Courses

  • We offer courses for students preparing to sit the OC Placement Test (Years 3 & 4), Selective Test (Year 5 & 6) and English and Maths courses for Junior high school students (Year 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10).

  • Each of our courses cover different types of content to target specific points of the learning process.

    WEMT

    • These are content based classes made specifically to teach theory for question types seen in the OC/Selective Test.

    Foundations Course

    • This course bridges the gap between what is taught at school and the knowledge required to follow along in our WEMT course.

    OC Trial Test Course (OCTT)

    • This class includes a comprehensive computer-based mock OC Test spread over two weeks, along with a review session that covers the entire exam in detail and focuses on exam techniques. The course covers Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, and Thinking Skills.

    Selective Trial Test Course (STTC)

    • This class alternates each week, covering Thinking Skills and Writing trial tests one week, and Mathematical Reasoning and Reading the next. Similar to our OC trial test course, it uses a computer-based testing system. We review all questions in detail and provide a full report for each test. Students can also take home their test papers for further review.

    Intensive English

    • This class focuses on building Reading and Writing skills for the Selective Test and allows students to spend more time targeting their weaknesses in English.

    High School English & Maths

    • These courses teach core concepts in Junior High School English & Math by focusing on a particular topic in the syllabus each week.

  • To determine which class you should enrol your child in, it would be beneficial to have a good understanding of what level your child’s current academic standing is.

The WEMT courses are designed for students who are learning core concepts and building on their knowledge in Writing, Reading (English), Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills. This course is recommended to most students.

For our students who already have a strong foundation in content, our computer-based Trial Test courses (OCTT and STTC) are recommended as an addition to WEMT courses to develop exam techniques such as speed and accuracy under simulated exam conditions on computers.

As for students who find our WEMT classes too challenging and need help bridging the gap between school work and OC/Selective content, we recommend our Foundations Class which focuses on building upon knowledge taught at school.

The Intensive English Course (Year 5 & 6) is for students who wish to spend extra time working on their writing and reading comprehension skills.

Our Maths and English Junior High School courses are for students in Year 6 (Term 3 & 4), 7, 8, 9 & 10 who are looking to get a head-start and competitive advantage over their peers in these subjects - regardless of whether they’re going to a local or Selective high school.

If you are unsure of which class your child should enrol in, please contact us for a free consultation.

  • Our classes vary in duration from 2 to 3.5 hours, depending on the type of class and year level.

For longer classes, short breaks are incorporated into the class schedule to ensure students have time to take a break and stretch their legs. For the exact duration, please see the relevant courses page.

Course Materials & Additional Help

  • Our curriculum and initial content for OC and Selective level courses were created by our three founders - Christopher Chen, Harsha Venkateshan and Vincent Liang. We also now have a team of more than 10 content creators who ensure that our materials are regularly updated and relevant to the constant changes in the OC/Selective Test. This is to ensure our content gives our students the best chance at success in the exams.

For our high school English and Mathematics classes, we invite experienced tutors in these areas to help shape our content.

  • Join our OC Test Discussion Group and Selective Test Discussion Group on Facebook to receive free materials every week as well as exclusive content such as fortnightly live seminars and monthly challenges!

You can also follow our Facebook Page or WeChat for updates and our Youtube channel for seminars.

Tutors & Results

  • Only the best tutors are hired through our specially tailored, rigorous interview process.

Tutors are provided with extensive training through a multi-day onboarding process including orientation, scenario role plays and shadowing experienced tutors before they step into the classroom.

Having graduated from top selective schools, our tutors understand the syllabus and system extremely well. Tutors who teach high school level classes have all scored exceptionally high marks for that subject in their HSC exams.

All of our staff strive to create an environment where your child can thrive whilst still having fun, so they can learn in an engaging environment.

Plus, they’re always available for a chat after class to answer your questions and provide personalised feedback about your child’s education.

You can read our tutor profiles on our tutors page.

  • Of the students who contacted us with their results, 83.2% received an offer or were waitlisted for a Selective School.

We had over 210 Selective School offers and over 400 subjects in the top 10% band.
